My name is Marlo Di Crasto and I am your travel planner, your coach, your hostess with the mostess, you storyteller, your connector, your guide, your Italy expert and your friend.
As an American/Italian dual citizen and Italian local, I created this company after being asked over and over again by visitors: “Marlo, where should we eat? Marlo, which excursion should we book? Marlo, we have a free day. What should we do?” I learned that I loved helping people make the best out of their time here in Italy and so, out of this obviously under-served need, my passion for helping visitors get the very best of Italy was born.
It is our mission to make sure you that you see, touch, hear, feel and taste the most authentic and the very best that Italy has to offer.
READ MORE ABOUT ME! I am the granddaughter of four Italian immigrants from Puglia, Sicily, Lazio and Campania. I was raised in my family’s Italian food store in Upstate NY surrounded by Italian food and wine. My grandmother, Josephine, was the local impresario running the family business, raising three children and promoting the opera. Luciano Pavarotti called her “Josephine, the Pizza Queen.”
When I was young, I started singing and dancing on stage before I could even reach the height of the store’s pizza oven. After a professional career on stage/TV/film, I moved to Florence, Italy to learn Italian and to chase down my roots. There, I worked in a boutique wine shop just steps from the Duomo where I learned all about the nuances of Tuscan wine from small producers. This led me to obtain a certificate as a Sommelier.
After a couple years in Florence, I longed for a bigger city and a bigger challenge so I moved to Rome. And here, I fell in love. Not in the way you might think. I fell in love with the city, Rome.
Today, as a dual citizen of Italy and the USA, I share my passion and insider knowledge of Italian food, wine, lifestyle and heritage with travelers from all over the world. I write about it, and I curate unforgettable experiences for visitors making sure to transform their Italian vacation from ordinary to extraordinary.
